Party time

Happy Birthday Roisin, Thank you for a wonderful party with really tasty food. Sadly I did not realise it would have been outside otherwise I would have wrapped up warmer. By the end of the evening I had my leather jacket with Chris's long woolen coat on top.

Vampirates

Windsor
As you might have twiged by now Saturday 29 September at 11.30, I was at the Vampirates show by the author, Justin Somper. Everyone who has seen me since has noted I loved it. I hope I did not steal the show, as soon as I walked in the photographer wanted photos of me dressed up. I did notice from the pictures she took for me that the sword hanging from the tiara had slipped and my spider ear cuff had fallen off. During the show he asked if any one knew who one of the characters was - Cheng Li, I must have been the only one to put up my hand. Then he asked me to describe her, I must have gone the same shade as my wig. But I feel as if I did a fair job, it is not as if I have not been reading and trying to describe the characters for the last three weeks or anything like that. Later after signing books he mentioned to someone that the fan site I made had only been up since the beginning of September. On the train ride home, it sank it that he must have really looked at the site, and not given it a cursory glance, I felt so chuffed. He very kindly signed my books and one for my kids school. I hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as me, I tried to play the Ma Kettle part and offer Justin Somper a drink at the end. Chris wants me to dress up again on Wednesday so he can do a page on this website called how nuts is your mum.

Getting To Windsor

Even the trip was interesting, first at Richmond ticket hall someone came up to me and said "Did you used to live in Bromley?" Yes, Then she said "you have to be Freya, you have not changed since we did Brownies together"!! Then I just missed the Windsor and Eton train, so waited for the old favourite Reading train to Stains. On that train were a group of lads who obviously knew each other but had not met up for a while. Then one went down the corridor and appeared back as a gorilla. Your everyday occurrence on the Reading train. Well that broke the ice and everyone started chatting in our portion of the carriage.

Tried scooting up the hill at Windsor, easier without a bag of props, Saturday 11.25 and their not being an occasion at the castle. When I arrived at the Guildhall the lady at the door looked at me and said "you will be wanting the loos", and pointed in the direction of them. "How did you guess?", she smiled and pointed to my bag. But I made it just in time, they had not started. Hurray.

Snakes and Dragons

While getting ready to go out for the Justin Somper show, my daughter was in our bed handing out comments with Chris. I love the excuse to dress up, although with kids you don't always get much of a chance. On the side I had put some pieces out of Mother's jewellery box, and my old favourites out of mine. (Oh, Eda I have your spider). I was allowed the ear rings, rings, broaches and when I came to Mother's bangles there was uproar from my daughter. Mother's coral snake looks like a plastic bracelet she owns. She would not even let me borrow it, she is quite sure it is hers. Then she spotted the chocolate gold coins. So it was bought back for a couple of coins, until they were eated. So after some slight of hand by Chris it was hidden in the same bag as the wig, (good camouflage).

As I was out without kids and rucksack I fished out my leather jacket. This caused another unforeseen problem. The dragon on the back needed breakfast before I was allowed to go.

Their Back

What can I say, we have not even managed a month back and my son has come home with an unwanted guest. There was a note outside nursery, saying that there were parasites in the school and to check you family's hair. My daughter was clear and my son complained bitterly that nursery had them so he did not need to be checked. But I know year three are prone to them, so checked him and yes one parasite.

Cats

Both Jessica have really been a blue lately. Chris put it down to summer holidays. We have been cat sitting for almost a week now. His morning he had to admit he thinks we do miss our Tig (Tiglington for long), and cat sitting Tiggie has pulled us out of our blues and the house looks tidier!!

And more kids.

The barter system seems to be well alive round here and I am working on extra points. Well that is how I feel at the moment. I have had a friends kid for a couple of days (child-minder was not available) and my daughters reaction was now Abigail. I feel as if we have had all her friends over for some reason or the other in the last two weeks and she thinks this is wonderful and is trying to book up more. I am really looking forward to Saturday a morning where I can be the kid and not be the responsible adult.

Teeth

While shopping today we picked up some vampire teeth for Callum. He tried them on when he got home from school and remarked that his own vampire teeth effort looked much better.

Library

Callum's challenge for today was to learn how to spell Library. So now test him when you next see him.

Spell Checkers

I do like spell checkers as this morning almost every other word has a red line under it. Except this line.

Parties and Busses

I am coming to the conclusion that parties are like busses. You don't have one for years and then two the same weekend. Chris is on support and cannot get out of it, so we can only go to one. This one is fancy dress, cowboys or angels. So as I am going to a Vampirates / Justin Somper show in the morning (yes I am escaping) dressed as a pirate, I will be a pirate called Ma Kettle to the evening party as well. Especially as the pirate flag on the back took about four hours to sew on.

Emails

I got some emails. Well it is a change from ebay and junk. Kerrie, Eda (well wonders never end) and Justin Somper !! He found my website, Yipee.

Hi! This is Justin Somper writing to say thanks for creating a wonderful site. I've just found it and was really delighted and impressed with how much you have up so speedily. I'm just kicking off a national tour to introduce readers around the UK to BLOOD CAPTAIN. I'm also busily drafting ideas for the fourth book - as yet unnamed - which I will start writing in earnest on my return. Trust the tide!
Justin Somper

How to brighten up my day. Thank you guys.
